Product Description Having freshly ground coffee at hand makes all the difference when brewing the perfect cup of coffee! Bodum`s New & Improved ANTIGUA electric coffee grinder was updated in several aspects in 2007, including a wider range of grinding from coarse to fine and a convenient instant grind feature. The conical burr grinder with its vast advantages was kept the same. The burr grinder allows you to match the coarseness of the grind to your preferred brewing method. There are eight preset grind settings marked on the Antigua, plus you can choose any intermediate position. The ANTIGUA can be used to grind all kinds of roasts, from the oily espressos to lighter and dryer roasts. The timer quantity/control allows for an amount of up to 2.8oz/80gr of coarse ground coffee and up to 1.4oz/40gr of fine ground coffee. The effects of static electricity inherent in all home grinders and we have done our best to reduce the amount of coffee mess in the update. Our new instant-touch button allows you to preset the grinding time for your preferred amount of coffee. You will need to experiment a few times, but once you know how much time the machine needs to run for the amount of coffee you desire, just leave the time in place and each time you wan to grind all that you need to do is touch th red button and the coffee will grind the exact amount you desire. The Bodum design department has scaled this professional grinder down to the smallest possible size without sacrificing the strength of the motor and grinding mechanism. 1-year limited warranty.

Perfect Coarse Grinder for French Press Coffee March 18, 2010 Joseph Stipanovich (Oakland, CA USA) We are French press coffee drinkers and like to grind our roasted beans just prior to brewing. We looked for the appropriate grinder to get the coarse grind we needed and found the Bodum Antigua Electric Burr Grinder (Black)at Amazon. It's a bit pricey by some measures, but if you relish good coffee it is an investment that provides innumerable returns. In addition with our order we received a FREE 16 oz. Stainless Steel 12V coffee mug that we have since used on several car trips that quickly reheats the coffee contents in the car. A terrific bonus! We heartily recommend the burr grinder from Bodum for French press coffee drinkers everywhere!
a really good value January 10, 2010 Patricia L. Shumaker (Fairview Park, OH United States) I have had my Bodum grinder since 2003 so I gave it a really good trial before writing this review. I shopped a lot of much more expensive burr grinders and this one pretty much does everything they do for a lot less money. It has settings for french press, drip, etc., and many in-between options. You can turn the arrow to whatever grind you like and if it's not quite right it's easy to tweak the setting a little or a lot. It always grinds the coffee perfectly and consistently with a minimum of dust and it's fairly easy to clean because the whole thing comes apart. I know it makes quite a bit of noise but that hasn't really been an issue. After almost 10 years of using this grinder it finally died in a house fire but I am now buying the exact same one again because it was such a good dependable grinder.
very unhappy November 17, 2009 D. Roberts 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Bodum Antigua Electric Burr Grinder I have does not grind coffee fine enough for espresso. I have experience with other grinders of this same make that do. This indicates to me that the manufacture of this particular machine is shoddy and that Bodum's quality control is poor. I communicated with a person named Geudy at the company and was told that because I can not produce a sales receipt (it was a gift)they will not guarantee, or stand by the quality of their products. It is really disappointing that a company of this size is willing to sell shoddy products, that their quality control program is inadequate, and that they don't especially care. Purchasing a Bodum coffee grinder appears to be like the lottery. If you're lucky you might win, but if you lose, tough luck; they already have your money.
Best Durn Coffee Grinder Ever! August 23, 2009 Robert Carignan (Korsør, Vestsjælland Denmark) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was fortunate to receive the "Bodum Antiqua Electric Burr Grinder" (long name, I just call it my coffee grinder) for my birthday eight years ago and "Voila" it gave up the ghost yesterday. It was my fault, not the grinders, because I didn't check the grounds tray to see that my wife had just ground some beans and the cup was already full (watch out for this). I really overloaded this wonderful "antique" machine, which ended up stripping the drive gear. This machine is only surpassed by the hand driven one that my Polish Grandmother allowed us to use when we were children on her farm in 19.... something, after the American Civil War anyway, which was our introduction to freshly ground coffee. Unfortunately, Bodum's guarantee doesn't extend eight years. Would I buy another one...you bet! Am I going to buy another one...YOU BET!
Broken within months, Bodum will not honor warranty August 14, 2009 Jeff "Snake" Greenberg (New Orleans, LA, United States) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this grinder a few months ago. Recently, the bin that catches the ground coffee came loose and slides out when grinding. The result is coffee grinds everywhere. I contacted Bodum and they said their warranty does not cover the bin. I would have to purchase one with no guarantee that it would fix the problem.
First, the product is unreliable. Second, the company will not stand behind it's product. Apply the money you would spend on this towards a quality item like th Kitchen Aid burr grinder.
